About This Activity

God's Window is the most dramatically named of the Panorama Route viewpoints — a narrow gap in the escarpment where the edge of the Highveld suddenly gives way to an overwhelming void. Below, the Lowveld stretches flat and hazy to the horizon some 1,000 metres down, with Kruger National Park visible on clear days. The upper viewpoint is a short walk through a cloud forest of mist-shrouded indigenous trees festooned with mosses and ferns. Early morning visits, when the Lowveld is shrouded in mist and the forest is alive with birds, are particularly atmospheric. Often combined with nearby Pinnacle Rock and the Lisbon Falls on the same Panorama Route day drive.
