Kruger National Park is Africa's most accessible Big Five safari destination — nearly 2 million hectares of bushveld teeming with lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and white and black rhino. Dawn game drives departing from rest camps at 05:30 are the best opportunity to observe predators active after a night's hunting. SANParks-operated drives use open-sided game vehicles with a qualified ranger; the park's 2,900 kilometres of roads, including paved main routes and dirt tracks, give access to a remarkable diversity of habitats. Satara, Skukuza, and Olifants camps are particularly well-placed for big cat sightings.
