Granada Cathedral & Royal Chapel
Granada, Spain
About This Activity
Granada Cathedral, begun in 1523 on the site of the former Great Mosque, is one of Spain's finest Renaissance buildings — its soaring interior bathed in brilliant white light. The attached Royal Chapel (Capilla Real) is the burial place of the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella; their tombs are among Spain's most important historical monuments. The sacristy displays Isabella's personal art collection and the royal crown and scepter. Cathedral admission is €6, Royal Chapel is €7 (sold separately). A combined ticket for both is excellent value.
Seasonal note: Year-round; closed Sunday mornings for Mass. The Royal Chapel and Cathedral have separate entrances and hours.
