Hammam Al Ándalus Granada — Moorish Arab Baths near the Alhambra
Granada, Spain
About This Activity
Hammam Al Ándalus Granada is the most famous Arab bath experience in Spain, occupying a building that honours the Nasrid-era baths once common throughout medieval Al-Ándalus. Located on Calle Santa Ana, a five-minute walk from the Alhambra ticket office, the hammam offers a 90-minute thermal circuit through hot pool (38°C), warm pool (36°C), cold plunge (16°C), and a steam room with aromatic oils — the classic Moorish sequence designed to open pores, relax muscles, and calm the mind. The basic thermal circuit costs around €30; the relaxation circuit (adding a 15-minute massage) is €40, and a 30-minute kessa scrub or argan oil massage adds €25-35. Booking online is essential — slots fill weeks ahead, especially evenings. The dimly lit marble interior, horseshoe arches, and star-cut ceiling lanterns transport you entirely out of the modern city. A late-afternoon session followed by dinner in the Albaicín neighbourhood makes a perfect Granada evening.
Seasonal note: Year-round. Book at least a week ahead; evening slots fill earliest.
