Ang Thong Marine National Park
Koh Samui, Thailand
About This Activity
Ang Thong Marine National Park, 30km northwest of Koh Samui, is an archipelago of 42 uninhabited limestone islands that inspired the fictional setting in Alex Garland's 'The Beach.' Highlights include the Emerald Lake (Talay Nai) — a landlocked saltwater lake on Ko Mae Ko reached by a steep 200-step climb — and sea kayaking through cathedral caves. Full-day speedboat tours from Koh Samui cost approximately 1,250–1,800 THB including hotel transfer, kayaking, snorkeling equipment, seafood lunch, and the park entrance fee (300 THB for adults, 150 THB for children).
Seasonal note: Best Dec–Apr (calm Gulf of Thailand); tours may be suspended Oct–Nov when seas are rough
