Antalya Museum
Antalya, Turkey
About This Activity
The Antalya Museum (Antalya Müzesi) is one of Turkey's largest and most impressive archaeological museums, housing artifacts spanning 40,000 years of regional history. Highlights include the Gallery of the Gods with stunning Roman marble statues from nearby Perge, intricate sarcophagi, a remarkable collection of Lycian silver coins, and Byzantine icon galleries. NOTE: The museum closed in July 2025 for a full rebuild (the old building was an earthquake risk). A new structure inspired by ancient Perge is under construction on the same site, with reopening expected late 2026. All artifacts are in secure temporary storage.
Seasonal note: Year-round indoor; great summer escape from heat
