Neve Shalom Synagogue & Turkish Jewish Museum
Istanbul, Turkey
About This Activity
Neve Shalom ('Oasis of Peace') in Beyoğlu is Istanbul's largest active synagogue, built in 1951. It tragically suffered terrorist attacks in 1986 and 2003. The adjacent Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews (₺30) documents 500+ years of Jewish Ottoman life — from Bayezid II's welcome of Spanish refugees to the community's role in modern Turkish culture. Visit requires advance security arrangement through the Chief Rabbinate. Closed Saturdays.
