Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar)
Istanbul, Turkey
About This Activity
The Spice Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı), built in 1664 as part of the New Mosque complex, is Istanbul's most aromatic market. Six L-shaped halls are stacked with vivid spice pyramids, bins of Turkish delight in dozens of flavors, dried apricots, saffron, and lokum. Vendors offer free samples of teas and sweets. The surrounding streets overflow with cheese shops, olive stalls, and pet shops, making the whole Eminönü waterfront area a sensory feast.
Seasonal note: Year-round; open daily 9am-7pm including Sundays; closed during Ramadan and Kurban Bayram
