Turkish Bath (Hammam) Experience
Istanbul, Turkey
About This Activity
The Turkish hammam tradition dates back to Ottoman times and remains a cornerstone of Istanbul culture. Visit one of the city's historic bathhouses — Çemberlitaş Hamamı (1584, from €68) or Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamamı (1580, from 3,950 TRY/~€80) — for a full bathing ritual. Lie on the heated marble göbektaşı (belly stone), enjoy a vigorous kese scrub with a coarse mitt, then a foam massage with olive-oil soap. The domed architecture, star-pierced ceilings, and rising steam create an unforgettable atmosphere. Book ahead and check gender-separated hours.
Seasonal note: Year-round indoor
