About This Activity

Experience one of the best dark-sky sites in North America. Bryce Canyon was designated an International Dark Sky Park and on a clear, moonless night you can see over 7,500 stars and the Milky Way stretching horizon to horizon. The NPS Astronomy Rangers offer free telescope programs on Wednesday and Friday evenings from May through September (reservations required, arrive 15-30 minutes early). The annual Astronomy Festival in late June features multi-night stargazing events. For a guided experience, private telescope tour operators like Dark Ranger Telescope Tours run sessions just outside the park. Best viewpoints: Sunset Point, Inspiration Point, Bryce Point. Included with park admission.
