About This Activity

The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (Bảo tàng Dân tộc học Việt Nam) is Hanoi's best museum, holding over 15,000 artifacts representing all 54 recognized ethnic minorities. Bilingual indoor galleries cover costumes, musical instruments, and ritual objects; the outdoor section has full-size reconstructed stilt houses, communal halls, and a Cham tower you can enter. An on-site Water Puppet Theatre runs short performances. Entry is 40,000 VND (~$1.60) for adults; camera use costs an extra 50,000 VND. Open Tue–Sun, 8:30am–5:30pm.

Seasonal note: Year-round indoor museum; closed Mondays. Outdoor section best in dry weather (Oct–Apr).
