Hikes in the Rockies I
Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
About This Activity
Rocky Mountain National Park offers over 350 miles of trails for all abilities. This collection covers popular moderate-to-challenging routes: Alberta Falls (1.6 mi RT, easy), The Loch (5.4 mi RT, moderate), Sky Pond (9.4 mi RT, strenuous with a waterfall scramble), and the lower stretches of the Longs Peak trail. Trail conditions vary dramatically by season — many high-altitude trails are snow-covered until late June. Check nps.gov/romo for current trail conditions. Timed entry reservations required in summer. Carry layers, sunscreen, and plenty of water — altitude can make even moderate hikes feel challenging.
