Taj Mahal at Sunrise
Agra, India
About This Activity
The Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632 and 1653 in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, is the pinnacle of Mughal architecture. Arrive at gate opening — 30 minutes before sunrise — to see the marble glow pink and gold before tour groups arrive; the long reflecting pool mirrors the dome in perfect stillness. Admission is ₹1,100 for foreigners (includes mausoleum access at an extra ₹200); book online at asiagracircle.in to avoid queues. Closed Fridays.
Seasonal note: October–March is ideal: cool mornings and clear skies. April–June brings fierce heat (40°C+); July–September is humid monsoon season with haze that diffuses views.
