About This Activity

Marine Drive is a 3.6-km crescent promenade along Mumbai's Arabian Sea coastline, lined with UNESCO-listed Art Deco apartment buildings from the 1930s–50s. At sunset, locals crowd the broad sea wall — couples, families, chai vendors, and cricket-watchers. After dark, the streetlights arc along the bay creating the 'Queen's Necklace' effect. Walk south to Nariman Point or north to Chowpatty Beach for bhelpuri and pav bhaji street food. Entirely free and one of Mumbai's most enjoyable experiences.

Seasonal note: Best November–March for cool evenings and clear sunset colours. Monsoon (June–September) is dramatic with crashing waves but the promenade floods at high tide.
