Mumbai Dabbawala Lunch Tour
Mumbai, India
About This Activity
Mumbai's dabbawala network delivers some 130,000 home-cooked tiffin lunches daily to offices across the city — a Harvard Business School logistics case study with a near-zero error rate. Guided tours (Monday–Saturday, 11 AM or 1:30 PM from Churchgate Station) shadow a dabbawala on his railway leg, watch the colour-coded sorting handoff, and end with a Maharashtrian tiffin of dal, sabzi, chapati, and pickle. Group tours from ₹1,500 per person; book ahead as slots are limited. Not available Sundays.
Seasonal note: Year-round, Monday–Saturday only. Monsoon (June–September) slows the network slightly but tours still run.
