About This Activity

Humayun's Tomb (1572) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the prototype for Mughal garden-tomb architecture — its double dome and charbagh (four-part water-channel garden) were built 70 years before the Taj Mahal and are unmistakably its blueprint. The warm red sandstone and white marble inlay glow in morning light; 150+ Mughal family graves fill the surrounding terraces. Book ASI e-tickets online; open sunrise to sunset, closed on Fridays.

Seasonal note: Year-round except Fridays. The charbagh gardens are lush during monsoon (Jul–Sep) but summer heat is oppressive; Oct–Mar is optimal.
