About This Activity

Jama Masjid (1656) holds 25,000 worshippers in its vast sandstone courtyard — entry is free though there is a ₹100 fee to climb the south minaret and ₹300 for camera permits. From the mosque, plunge into Shahjahanabad's warren of lanes: rickshaws threading past spice stalls, silver jewellers, and centuries-old havelis in Kinari Bazaar. The mosque closes during Friday prayer (12:30–2pm) and is busiest on Friday evenings; non-Muslims must dress modestly and remove shoes.

Seasonal note: Year-round but Oct–Mar is most comfortable for the outdoor courtyard; avoid midday in summer.
