About This Activity

Ferries depart from Rossaveel (40 minutes from Galway) to Inis Mór — return adult fare around €34. On the island, rent a bicycle from Kilronan village (about €15) to reach Dún Aonghasa, a semicircular stone fort perched 100m above the Atlantic and dating to the Bronze Age. Inis Mór is an Irish-speaking community of around 800 people; stone walls, traditional thatched cottages, and ancient church ruins dot a landscape unchanged for centuries.

Seasonal note: Best May–Sep; ferry weather-dependent Oct–Apr
