Dead Sea Mineral Mud Ritual — Kalia Beach
Dead Sea Area, Israel
About This Activity
The Dead Sea mud ritual is one of the most ancient wellness practices still performed in its original location. At Kalia Beach on the northern Dead Sea shore (entry around 55 NIS), free mineral mud is available directly from the shoreline. Apply the black mud rich in magnesium, potassium, calcium, and bromide over your skin, let it dry in the desert sun for 10-15 minutes, then wade into the hypersaline water to rinse. The beach has showers, a restaurant, lockers, and sun chairs. Biankini Beach Club nearby offers similar pricing with more facilities.
Seasonal note: Year-round but summer midday heat can be extreme. Morning visits recommended.
