Ein Gedi Nature Reserve
Dead Sea Area, Israel
About This Activity
Ein Gedi is one of Israel's most beautiful nature reserves — a lush oasis of freshwater springs and waterfalls carved into the arid Judean Desert above the Dead Sea shore. Two main wadis offer hikes of varying difficulty past waterfalls, natural pools, and ancient ruins, with wild Nubian ibex and rock hyraxes that approach within metres. The David Stream trail leads to the Shulamit Spring waterfall, while the more demanding Arugot Stream trail offers deeper desert scenery. Admission is 29 NIS; arrive early to beat the heat.
Seasonal note: Year-round but summer heat can be dangerous. Reserve closes entry early on hot days.
