About This Activity

Monterosso al Mare has the only full sandy beach in all five Cinque Terre villages — a 600-metre stretch divided between a free central zone and private lido sections (sunbed rental around €15-20). The beach is sheltered by the Punta Mesco headland and backed by pastel buildings and a 14th-century Capuchin church. After swimming in the clear Ligurian water, walk the promenade to the Old Town for a plate of pesto trofie pasta and locally caught anchovies. Spend the afternoon exploring the smaller pebble coves of Riomaggiore and Manarola by local train.

Seasonal note: Beach season June-September; Monterosso is quieter on weekdays
