About This Activity
This full-day guided trek starts at Riomaggiore and follows a demanding inland coastal path to Portovenere — a UNESCO-listed medieval walled town on a promontory at the southern tip of the Gulf of Poets. The 10 km route climbs sharply out of Riomaggiore, traverses clifftop paths above the Ligurian Sea, and arrives 4-5 hours later in Portovenere's stone-arched streets. Explore the church of San Pietro perched on the rocks, then catch the ferry back to Cinque Terre. Guided tours cost approximately €180-200 per person including guide, ferry, and light lunch at Portovenere.
Seasonal note: Trail most pleasant in spring and autumn; summer heat makes the climb very tough
