Ostia Antica Archaeological Park Day Trip from Rome
Rome, Italy
About This Activity
Ostia Antica preserves an entire Roman harbor city — bakeries, mosaic-floored baths, theatres, and apartment blocks — across a 34-hectare park just 30 minutes from Rome by Trenitalia (station: Ostia Antica, line Roma–Lido). Entry is €18; the park is open year-round but has minimal shade, so bring water and a hat in summer. Self-guided visits take 3–4 hours; audio guides are available on site. Far less crowded than Pompeii and often completely quiet on weekdays.
Seasonal note: Best March–May and Sept–Nov; very exposed in summer heat
