Testaccio Market & Street Food Tour, Rome
Rome, Italy
About This Activity
Testaccio is Rome's original working-class food neighborhood — home to the Mercato di Testaccio (open Mon–Sat 7am–3:30pm), where stalls sell Roman-grown produce, offal cuts, aged pecorino, and some of the city's best street food. Graze self-guided or join a food tour (€60–70 per person) that takes in 4–5 stalls for supplì al telefono, porchetta, maritozzo, and local wine. The neighborhood's no-frills trattorias serve cacio e pepe and carbonara at prices well below the tourist-center average.
Seasonal note: Year-round; market open Mon–Sat 7am–3:30pm, closed Sundays; most pleasant in spring and autumn mild weather
