About This Activity

Pompeii preserves an entire Roman city frozen in time after Mount Vesuvius buried it under 6 meters of ash in 79 AD. Walk paved streets past bakeries, bath houses, and forum temples while the mountain looms in the background. The site spans 44 hectares — budget 3-4 hours on site after the Trenitalia ride from Roma Termini. Entry is €18-22 (Pompeii Express or Plus ticket); book in advance as daily visitor caps apply from March 2026.

Seasonal note: Avoid July-August — very hot with little shade
