Cinque Terre Day Trip from Tuscany — Five Pastel Fishing Villages
Tuscany, Italy
About This Activity
From Florence or Pisa, catch a train north to La Spezia (2-2.5 hours), then connect to Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five Cinque Terre villages. Pick up a Cinque Terre Trekking Card (€7.50/day) and hike the famous Sentiero Azzurro coastal trail — the 90-minute stretch between Monterosso and Vernazza is the most dramatic. In Vernazza, lunch at the harbour on focaccia and grilled octopus before taking the local train back through all five villages. The Via dell'Amore (re-opened 2024) requires advance booking.
Seasonal note: July-August intensely crowded; spring and early autumn ideal for hiking
