About This Activity
Japan's first open-air museum (opened 1969) occupies 7 hectares of sculpted gardens at 200 m elevation in Hakone. Over 120 works by Rodin, Moore, Giacometti, Miro, and Japanese artists line the grounds alongside a dedicated Picasso Pavilion housing 300+ works. Adult admission is ¥2,000 (¥100 discount with Hakone Free Pass); open 365 days/year, 9 am-5 pm, last entry 4:30 pm. Allow 2-3 hours for outdoor sculpture garden and indoor galleries.
