Burdah Rock Bridge Hike
Wadi Rum, Jordan
About This Activity
The Burdah Rock Bridge is Wadi Rum's most spectacular natural arch and the most rewarding hiking target in the protected area. The arch spans 35 metres and stands 80 metres above the desert floor — accessed via a challenging 2-hour hike requiring some scrambling up sandstone faces. Standing on the narrow bridge with views across the desert is one of Jordan's great adrenaline moments. The hike should only be attempted with a Bedouin guide familiar with the route; guides with intimate knowledge of the unmarked trails can be arranged through camps in Rum Village. The Um Frouth Rock Bridge (smaller, easier, closer) is an alternative for those wanting an arch experience without the technical climb.
