Desert Stargazing & Bedouin Camp
Wadi Rum, Jordan
About This Activity
Wadi Rum's remote location, zero light pollution, and near-zero humidity make it one of the finest places on Earth to observe the night sky. A stay in a Bedouin camp — ranging from simple Bedouin goat-hair tents to glamping bubble tents with transparent roofs — includes dinner cooked in an underground zarb oven (a traditional Bedouin method of slow-cooking over buried coals), Bedouin music and storytelling around a fire, and a sky so thick with stars that the Milky Way appears as a solid river of light. Several camps near Rum Village offer bubble tents with heated glass roofs for stargazing in bed. Rates range from 40 JD (simple tents) to 150+ JD per person for luxury bubbles.
