Saadian Tombs
Marrakech, Morocco
About This Activity
The Saadian Tombs were sealed and forgotten for over 200 years until their rediscovery by aerial survey in 1917. Dating to the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the late 1500s, the mausoleum contains 66 tombs in a lush garden setting. The Hall of Twelve Columns, with its Italian Carrara marble and intricate muqarnas ceiling, is considered one of the finest examples of Islamic decorative art in Morocco. Tickets can be purchased online to skip the queue.
Seasonal note: Year-round; arrive early to beat queues, open 9am-5pm daily
