About This Activity
The Fjellheisen cable car ascends 421 metres in just four minutes from the outskirts of Tromsø to the plateau above the city, revealing one of the Arctic's most spectacular panoramas. From the summit viewing platform and restaurant, the entire island city, the Tromsøstraumen strait, the surrounding fjords, and the Lyngen Alps spread out below. In winter this is an excellent northern lights vantage point; in summer the midnight sun casts a golden glow over the landscape at 2am.
