About This Activity

Golden Gate Park stretches 3 miles from Ocean Beach to the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, larger than Central Park. Highlights include the California Academy of Sciences (aquarium, planetarium, and rainforest under one living roof), the de Young Museum, the serene Japanese Tea Garden (the oldest in the US), and the Conservatory of Flowers. Rent bikes to cover more ground, or simply walk the shaded paths and meadows. The park is free to enter; museums charge separate admission.

Seasonal note: Year-round; less foggy than other parts of the city in summer
