Hammam Al Ándalus Barcelona — Arab Thermal Baths in El Born
Barcelona, Spain
About This Activity
Hammam Al Ándalus Barcelona is located in the El Born neighbourhood, one of the city's oldest and most atmospheric medieval quarters, a short walk from the Picasso Museum and the Gothic Quarter. The 90-minute thermal bath circuit follows the traditional Moorish sequence: warm pool (36°C), hot pool (40°C), cold plunge (16°C), and aromatic steam room — a ritual practised across the Islamic world for a thousand years. Prices run around €35 for the basic thermal circuit; a 15-minute massage adds approximately €15. Book online well in advance — this is one of Barcelona's top wellness experiences and evening slots are particularly popular. The AIRE Ancient Baths in the Born neighbourhood is another excellent alternative if Hammam Al Ándalus is booked out, with a similar Moorish aesthetic and comparable pricing. The experience contrasts elegantly with Barcelona's modernista architecture — the same city holds both Gaudí's organic futurism and this medieval Islamic water ritual.
Seasonal note: Year-round. Book at least a week ahead; evenings and weekends fill quickly.
