Calton Hill Sunset
Edinburgh, United Kingdom
About This Activity
Calton Hill is Edinburgh's most accessible viewpoint — a short 10-minute walk from Princes Street — and offers arguably the best panoramic view of the city, including Edinburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat, the Firth of Forth, and the New Town grid. The hill is dotted with Neoclassical monuments including the unfinished National Monument, the Nelson Monument, and the City Observatory. Entry is free at all times. Sunset visits are particularly spectacular, with golden light on the castle rock.
