Kayaking Through Ha Long Bay Sea Caves
Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
About This Activity
Ha Long Bay's most memorable activity is kayaking through the tunnels of Luon Cave, Dark Cave (Hang Toi), and Ba Hang to reach enclosed lagoons hidden inside hollow limestone mountains. Monkeys and tropical birds inhabit these secret ecosystems accessible only by water. Most overnight cruises include one or two kayaking sessions (1–2 hours each) at no extra charge. Double kayaks suit beginners; single kayaks are available for experienced paddlers. Cave entrances are low — expect to lean back to pass through. Combine with a paddle around a floating fishing village for the full experience.
Seasonal note: Included in most cruises year-round; cancelled during storms or typhoon warnings (Jul–Sep risk).
