Peristyle Square at Night
Split, Croatia
About This Activity
By night, the Peristyle — the grand colonnaded entrance court of Diocletian's Palace — transforms into one of the Mediterranean's most magical spaces. Ancient columns glow amber in the lamplight, the Cathedral of Saint Domnius rises behind its Egyptian black granite sphinx, and spontaneous opera singers often perform on the marble steps, their voices echoing off stone. Terrace bars ring the square, making this the perfect spot for an evening aperitivo. Summer brings organised musical performances and the Split Summer Festival to this unforgettable outdoor stage — completely free to witness from the square itself.
