Pyramids of Giza & the Sphinx
Cairo, Egypt
About This Activity
The Giza Plateau is humanity's most iconic ancient monument — three pyramids built over 4,500 years ago as royal tombs for pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, guarded by the enigmatic Great Sphinx. The Great Pyramid of Khufu stands 138 meters tall and remains one of the most precisely engineered structures in history. Arrive at opening (7am) to experience the site with minimal crowds and beautiful morning light. Horse and camel rides are offered; agree on prices before mounting. Entry to the plateau is 160 EGP; entering the Great Pyramid costs an additional 400 EGP. Combine with a visit to the Solar Boat Museum (130 EGP) to see a 4,600-year-old cedar vessel.
