About This Activity

City Palace, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II from 1729, remains partly occupied by the Jaipur royal family today. The museum inside Mubarak Mahal and Maharani Palace holds the world's largest silver urns (Gangajali urns, used to carry holy Ganges water), extraordinary royal costumes, and weapons. The peacock-painted gateways and blue-pink courtyards of Chandra Mahal are stunning. Museum entry is ~₹700 for foreigners; the Royal Grandeur guided tour of private Chandra Mahal floors costs extra (~₹2,000).

Seasonal note: Open year-round, 9:30am–5pm. Oct–Mar is most pleasant; partially shaded courtyards make this more manageable in heat than Amber Fort.
