About This Activity

Hawa Mahal (1799) is Jaipur's most recognisable landmark — a five-storey pink sandstone screen of 953 jharokha (lattice) windows, designed so royal ladies could observe street processions unseen. The best exterior photo angle is from the roof of the café directly opposite. Inside, climb to the upper galleries for open views over the old-city bazaars and distant Nahargarh Fort. Entry for foreigners is ₹200; open 9am–4:30pm. Combine with adjacent Johari Bazaar.

Seasonal note: The pink sandstone glows best in soft morning light. Open year-round; Oct–Mar is ideal. Best exterior shots taken in early morning before street crowds gather.
