Colaba Causeway Food Walk
Mumbai, India
About This Activity
Colaba Causeway (Shahid Bhagat Singh Road) runs south from the Taj hotel to the Afghan Church and is packed with street stalls dishing up Mumbai classics: vada pav (potato fritter in a bun — the city's great cheap eat), pav bhaji (buttery vegetable mash), bhelpuri with tamarind and crispy puffed rice, and fresh coconut water. The atmospheric Leopold Café is a heritage stop for a chai. Budget ₹300–500 for a full graze. Open 10 AM–10 PM; best explored in the cooler morning or late afternoon.
Seasonal note: Year-round, but November–March is most comfortable for extended street walking. Monsoon afternoons can be very wet; go in the morning window between showers.
