Lutyens' Delhi Architecture Walk
New Delhi, India
About This Activity
Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker designed New Delhi as British India's imperial capital, completed 1931 — one of the 20th century's great planned cities. The walk along Kartavya Path (renamed from Rajpath in 2022 after major Central Vista redevelopment) passes the North and South Secretariats, India Gate, the National War Memorial, and ends at the domed Rashtrapati Bhavan. Connaught Place, the Georgian circular colonnade, is a short detour away. Best done early morning before traffic and heat build.
Seasonal note: An outdoor walk best done Oct–Mar; early mornings essential in summer to beat the heat.
