Nizamuddin Dargah & Qawwali Evening
New Delhi, India
About This Activity
The Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (14th century) draws thousands of devotees daily and comes to its most intense life on Thursday evenings when hereditary qawwali singers perform in the rose-strewn marble courtyard. Entry and qawwali are free; flower offerings at the door cost ₹20–50. The narrow alley approaching the shrine is lined with prayer-cap vendors and sheer khurma sellers. Dress modestly, cover your head, and remove shoes at the gate.
Seasonal note: Open daily year-round; Thursday evenings are the highlight. Qawwali is especially atmospheric in the cooler winter months.
