About This Activity

The English Market has traded in Cork's city centre since 1788 and was famously visited by Queen Elizabeth II in 2011. Its Victorian cast-iron interior shelters around 60 traders selling Cork specialities: tripe and drisheen (a blood sausage unique to Cork), smoked fish, charcuterie, artisan bread, and local cheeses. The Farmgate Café on the gallery level offers a brilliant lunch with market-sourced ingredients. Free to enter; open Monday–Saturday, closes around 6pm.

Seasonal note: Open Mon–Sat year-round; busiest mornings
