Armenian Quarter Ceramics Workshop
Jerusalem, Israel
About This Activity
Jerusalem's Armenian Quarter is the smallest of the four Old City quarters, home to a community present since the 5th century. The quarter is renowned for its hand-painted ceramic tiles in azure and cobalt blue patterns that decorate doorways and street signs throughout the Old City. Workshops like Sandrouni and Balian offer hands-on classes led by Armenian craftspeople whose families have practiced the art for generations. Sessions run about two hours and participants take home their painted tile.
Seasonal note: Year-round. Contact workshops directly to book; availability varies.
