Friday Night Shabbat Dinner Experience
Jerusalem, Israel
About This Activity
Shabbat begins at sundown every Friday and transforms Jerusalem instantly — shops close, traffic stills, and families gather for the weekly ritual dinner. Joining a local family through platforms like Shabbat of a Lifetime or EatWith is one of the most profound ways to connect with Jewish culture. The dinner follows a set ritual: candle-lighting, kiddush over wine and challah, and a multi-course meal of Ashkenazi or Mizrahi dishes. Hosted experiences run from 50 NIS at Abraham Hostel to $122 on EatWith for private home dinners.
Seasonal note: Friday evenings only. Book in advance through hospitality platforms.
