Huaca Pucllana
Lima, Peru
About This Activity
Huaca Pucllana is a 5th-century CE adobe pyramid built by the Lima culture, rising incongruously from the middle of upscale Miraflores. Mandatory guided tours (included in entry, ~$4 USD / S/15) explain its role as a religious and administrative center and highlight ongoing excavations — new finds are regularly uncovered. Evening visits (Wed–Sun, 7–10 PM) are especially atmospheric when the ruins are dramatically lit. The adjacent gourmet restaurant offers al fresco dining overlooking the pyramid.
Seasonal note: Year-round; night visits Wed–Sun 7–10 PM are atmospheric. Jun–Aug garúa mist can create a dramatic atmosphere around the lit ruins.
