Ponta da Piedade is a dramatic headland just 3 km south of Lagos where golden limestone towers, arches, and sea caves rise from turquoise Atlantic waters. Follow the clifftop path for sweeping panoramas, then descend the steps to hire a kayak or join a short boat trip into the hidden grottos below — the most photogenic 3 hours in the Algarve.
Seasonal note: Best May–Oct when seas are calm and kayak/boat tours operate. Clifftop walk is free year-round; grottos and cave tours available April–October. Arrive early morning for calmer water and fewer crowds.
