Kemeraltı Bazaar & Street Food Tour
Izmir, Turkey
About This Activity
Kemeraltı Bazaar has been Izmir's commercial heart since the 17th century, stretching from Konak Square deep into a labyrinth of covered streets. Taste Izmir's signature boyoz (flaky Sephardic pastry), kumru (sesame-crusted sandwich), tulum cheese, and fresh-squeezed pomegranate juice. The bazaar also hides a 16th-century caravanserai (Kızlarağası Hanı), several historic synagogues reflecting Izmir's Sephardic heritage, and endless stalls of spices, dried figs, and olive oil. A guided food tour brings the best flavors to life.
Seasonal note: Best in mild weather; covered sections available year-round
