Arches National Park
Arches & Moab, Utah National Parks
About This Activity
Explore over 2,000 sandstone arches on the 36-mile scenic drive through Arches National Park, including the iconic Delicate Arch (Utah's license plate symbol). The park requires timed-entry reservations from April through October between 7 AM and 4 PM ($2 fee on Recreation.gov, released 3 months in advance). Park entrance is $30/vehicle (7-day pass). Key stops: Park Avenue Viewpoint, Balanced Rock, the Windows Section (easy short walks to several arches), and the 3-mile round-trip hike to Delicate Arch (strenuous, no shade, 630 ft elevation gain -- carry 2 quarts of water per person). Summer temperatures in Moab routinely exceed 100°F; hike early morning or late afternoon. Best seasons: spring (April-May) and fall (September-October).
