Angels Landing Guided Hike (Permit Required)
Zion National Park, Utah National Parks
About This Activity
Tackle the iconic Angels Landing trail with a guide. Since April 2022, an NPS permit obtained through a Recreation.gov lottery is mandatory for the final half-mile chain-assisted section from Scout Lookout to the summit. There are two lottery windows: a seasonal lottery (apply months in advance, pick up to 7 preferred dates) and a day-before lottery (apply 12:01 AM - 3 PM the day before, results by 4 PM). The application fee is $6 plus $3/person if awarded. The 5.4-mile round-trip hike gains 1,488 feet of elevation and includes narrow ridges with 1,000-foot drop-offs. A guided tour helps navigate the exposure but does not guarantee a permit -- you must secure your own. Allow 4-5 hours.
